Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Vastel is operated by ZIDITEC SARL, a Cameroonian company headquartered at Rue 1839, Bastos, Yaoundé. We act as the data controller of the personal information you provide to us.

2. Information we collect

• Identity data — full name, date of birth, nationality, government ID and selfie used for KYC.
• Contact data — phone number, email address and postal address.
• Financial data — Mobile Money account, crypto wallet addresses, transaction history.
• Device data — IP address, device identifiers, operating system and browser version.
• Usage data — how you interact with our app, including pages visited and features used.

3. How we use your data

• To create and operate your Vastel account.
• To process crypto purchases, sales, card transactions and Mobile Money top-ups.
• To meet our legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF).
• To protect against fraud and unauthorised access.
• To improve our products and provide customer support.

4. Sharing your data

We share personal data only with: (a) regulated payment, card-issuing and crypto partners that are required to deliver the service; (b) competent regulators and authorities when legally required; and (c) service providers bound by confidentiality (e.g. cloud hosting, customer support tooling). We never sell your data.

5. International transfers

Some of our partners operate outside the CEMAC region. When data is transferred internationally, we rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights email privacy@vastel.app.

7. Retention

We keep transaction and KYC data for at least ten (10) years after account closure, as required by CEMAC AML rules. Other data is deleted within 90 days of account closure.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences and measure performance. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
